GUIDES

The main guide, and also the leader of the company, is Pablo Perez, however, other guides may collaborate depending on the season and/or type of tour. Pablo has studied a master’s degree in Environmental Science, as well as obtaining several hiking, first-aid response, and interpretation guiding certificates. His first guiding experience was in 2009 in the Spanish Pyrenees. Finally, in 2016, he set up Wilextours as a professional venture. Since then, Pablo has been guiding in Spain, Alaska, Greenland, and Canada, including some experience abroad in other interesting destinations such as Patagonia, and New Zealand, where he volunteered as a wildlife ranger. But it is in Spain, his backyard, where he comes to the fore with his passion and profound knowledge of nature and the environment. It is here in his homeland where he loves to show visitors around due to the rich variety of habitats and wildlife, mixed with a rich array of heritage and gastronomy. Pablo is also really keen on several mountain and water sport disciplines where he can really get to know and experience true wilderness in a more personal way thus enhancing his appreciation for the world around him. One of these activities is sea kayaking expeditions. Pablo worked in British Columbia as an overnight assistant guide to gain expertise in this area. His interest is primarily focused on birds, but anything from geology, to plants, insects or large mammals will be primarily related to the experience we will have during the length of the tour. Pablo is friendly, outgoing and instantly likeable. He truly believes in the personal participation of the costumer by giving them the opportunity to contribute and create their own experience during the tour instead of providing a more traditional lecture orientated tour in which visitors will never really become wholly involved.
